Curved Mistletoe

Curved Mistletoe plant (Banda in Hindi) is a semi-parasitic plant that grows between the branches of the apple, hawthorn, pear and plum trees. The plant can grow up to a height of 3 feet. It has a cylindrical stem, oval leaves with yellowish green tips, and light colored tubular flowers.
Part used: Dried herb and leaves.
Medical benefits:
An extract obtained from this herb is an immune stimulant, antioxidant, cytostatic, and diuretic. It is important ingredient of many medicines used in treatment of cancer, arthritis, cough, cold, asthma and neurological disorders.
The extract is beneficial in menopause, menstrual cramps and bleeding problems.
A teaspoon of tincture mixed in a glass of water if taken on empty stomach or thrice a day gives relief in arthritis.
Tincture compress made from this plant is used in gout and bone pains.
Boiled leaves used as a poultice help reduce inflammation.
1-2 crushed leaves with water taken twice a day reduces diarrhea and excessive bleeding.
Half a teaspoon of the powder obtained from dried leaves and bark taken twice a day strengthens bones, reduces osteoporosis and is helpful in arthritis.
A teaspoon containing small quantity of the powder with ginger and honey is beneficial for respiratory problems.
The tea reduces nervous tension, chronic fatigue syndrome, stress, epilepsy, and other nerve problems. The tea is also a cardio tonic; it reduces blood pressure and helps treat varicose veins.
